Project overview

London

This new penthouse structure spans two Art Deco blocks in the Ladbroke Conservation Area on one of Notting Hill’s prime crescents.

Large panels of stone are interspersed with generous slim framed glazing to take advantage of the fine views over west London. A projecting stone sill provides clear separation between original and new fabric which helped satisfy the RBKC Conservation and Design officer as it forms a contemporary re-invention of the traditional cornice and attic storey form that is prevalent throughout the surrounding high quality Victorian townscape.

The apartment spans over 2 floors, with a new lift, a glazed bridging linking between the blocks and a generous roof terrace over the western lower block.
