Project overview
A concept design scheme for a replacement dwelling overlooking the protected National Trust landscape of Limpsfield Common, the House in Oxted draws inspiration from classic modernist houses, yet with a sensitivity to context and material richness.
Raised on a stone plinth above the existing ground level, the square plan form creates a secluded central courtyard of Japanese maples, flanked by the two storey main house and a leisure wing containing swimming pool, spa, and gym. Generous covered terraces surround the building while glazed elevations maximise views to the south and east. A palette of limestone and timber maintain elegant refined detailing across the exterior facades. The 1st floor bedrooms cantilever out over the spaces below providing filtered views through the tree canopy.
